Physical activity is especially important as you get older. Staying active can help: Lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and some types of cancer
Strength training also increases bone strength by increasing bone mass and bone mineral density. This reduces the risk of osteoporosis, a bone disease that is a major cause for fractures. For people living with diabetes, strength training can help the body utilize insulin better, which lowers blood glucose levels.
People who do CrossFit come in all shapes and sizes, and you can start at any age. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you can do. If you keep showing up and putting in the work, you’re a CrossFit athlete.
